Covid-19 - Blended Learning
As we continue Blended in-person instruction, band students will be required to wear an appropriate mask and use a bell cover on woodwind and brass instruments. We will maintain a minimum of 6 feet distancing (9 for some instruments) at all times. These accommodations are part of the OJR Fall Reopening Plan, and based on this year's Performing Arts Aerosol Study.
All woodwind and brass musicians will use a mask with an opening. Students will receive one FREE mask courtesy of our amazing Music Parents Organization. Thank you MPO!
Masks were handed out in class beginning on October 21.
If it is lost or damaged, we will have a limited supply of extras for band families to purchase for $7 each. Payments for extra masks should be made payable to "OJR MPO - Band Chapter."
Flutes will receive a mask that can be used with a flute. All provided masks should only be worn during band rehearsals.
Percussion and mallet students should wear their normal masks.
All woodwinds and brass musicians must have a covering over the end of their instrument. This item can be purchased or homemade. (See photo examples below.)
Homemade Options - These do not have to be fancy! Just try to have your cover provide two layers.
